Justin Tomlinson MP Having Presented the HRA Annual Award for Small Groups -
Awarded to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway
I was very pleased to attend the National Heritage Railway Association annual dinner and awards ceremony, held at STEAM museum.
The annual dinner and awards recognised the excellent work amongst volunteers and enthusiasts throughout the country, for which I presented the award for 'Small Groups'.
I was delighted that STEAM museum was selected by the HRA as the venue for this national event, and I very much hope they will make many more return visits. I know the visitors were impressed by the museum.
Having formerly been responsible for STEAM museum for fours years, I am always keen to be on hand to offer what support I can. Year on year, visitor figures are increasing, and the investment in the museum from the Conservative Council has seen a significant increase in the number corporate bookings, generating additional income and visitors.
