Justin Tomlinson MP today welcomed the announcement by Prime Minister, David Cameron, of a major new nationwide year-long campaign to highlight the support available to start-ups and smaller growing businesses.

Working closely with the private sector, the ‘Business In You’ campaign aims to inspire people to realise their business dreams and ambitions. With the Olympics only months away, 2012 is a unique opportunity for British businesses and this campaign will be key in ensuring that as many as possible start up and grow.

The campaign leads people to the support they need to take the leap and start their own business or to expand, by employing more people or start exporting.

Justin Tomlinson MP said “Small businesses and entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of our economy. As a former small business owner myself, I know how difficult it can sometimes be. It is vital that we make people aware of the support that is out there and encourage them to turn their ideas into a reality.

"I am especially supportive of getting young people to start their own businesses.  They are often the best people to do so as they challenge how things are done and are full of excellent ideas.  It is just about how we encourage them to take the plunge and support them as they do so.  The 'Business In You' campaign is a great initiative that, through its online resources, will reach the younger generation to give them the advice they need to give business a go."
