Following on from the successful launch of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Financial Education for Young People we had our inaugural meeting.
The meeting was packed with supporting MPs and organisations as we planned our timetable of meetings and action.
The group with focus on 4 core areas:
- Primary & Secondary School Education
- Further Education, Apprenticeships & Work Based Training
- Higher Education
- Vulnerable Children
The APPG will be setting up an enquiry, gathering further evidence, organising Parliamentary debates and making positive representations to help press for further action.
Justin Tomlinson MP, "The launch showed we have overwhelming support for the principle of financial education for young people, and now in thoughtful and measured manner we will seek practical and constructive ideas on how to improve financial education provision."
