Justin Joins All-Party Parliamentary Group For Learning Disabilities

North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson has joined a number of MPs from across Parliament to champion people with learning disabilities.

Justin has recently joined the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Learning Disabilities, which aims to look at the issues facing people with a learning disability and their families.

The group will discuss the key issues of the day, across areas including health, social care, education, employment and benefits.

A number of different stakeholders work with the APPG to highlight issues affecting people with learning disabilities and how MPs can help them fulfil their potential.

As Minister for Disabled People, and throughout his time as an MP, has worked with a number of organisations advocating for people with learning disabilities – such as Mencap, Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group and The Open Door Centre.

Justin Tomlinson MP said: “I am delighted to join the APPG and continue my work to support people with learning difficulties. I have seen first hand how, when given the right support, people with learning difficulties can thrive – and I am looking forward to seeing how the APPG can ensure the best outcomes for people with disabilities.
