Justin Meets With Ramblers To Discuss Historic Footpaths

North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson met with members of North East Wiltshire Ramblers, to listen to their concerns regarding access to nature and historic footpaths.

Graham Lee and Peter Gallagher from the Ramblers visited Justin’s community office to discuss the group’s Walking In Nature manifesto – and the recommendations it made regarding historic footpaths. Another issue raised was the inconsistency of enforcement and compliance regarding pathways and public right of way.

Following the meeting Justin wrote to Rebecca Pow MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, to highlight the group’s concerns.

Justin said: “This was a very interesting meeting, which raised some important points about access to nature. The UK has some incredibly beautiful countryside, and I support any measures which preserve it and ensure that it can be enjoyed by as many people as possible.”
