Justin Visits New Redhouse Cafe

I have said it before and I’ll say it again – we have some fantastic independent businesses in Swindon that are more than worthy of our support.

One of those businesses that I have visited recently is Café Vialottie in Redhouse, which has replaced the old Uplands charity shop on the corner. If you haven’t been before, then you’ll be very impressed with the work that the owners have done to decorate and style the cafe. The coffee is fantastic and there is an exceptional selection of cakes, including pippins doughnuts. Their special is crepes which they serve warm with indulgent toppings including nutella and biscoff.

I was delighted to visit the café for their Macmillan coffee morning last week which raised a total of £425 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The owners of the café are very keen to get more local residents in to support the businesses and we both discussed the importance of choosing independents over chains. Rather than going to the main chains including Costa & Starbucks- most will agree that it is much better to support a local business and keep it going, and enjoy better coffee whilst you are doing so!

When it comes to independent retailers, the conclusion is always the same – use them or lose them.
